Science

Science is the study of the world around us. Scientists learn about their subject by observing, describing and experimenting. There are many subjects and branches of Science.

At St Margaret's at Hasbury CE Primary School we follow the National Curriculum Science KS1/2. Each year group has a programme of study to follow which is planned in a sequence for children to acquire new knowledge and build on knowledge. Biology, Physics and Chemistry are all taught discretely under the umbrella of Science.

Through the high-quality teaching of science children are given opportunities to:

· ask questions

· make observations over time

· carryout test

· classify

· gather and record data to help in answering questions

As a school we take part in Science focus weeks, learning about significant Scientist. We enjoy visits from Wonderdome which provide children with a more extensive knowledge of Earth and Space.
