Christian Distinctiveness

SCHOOL'S VISION

Through our Christian Faith, we acknowledge our responsibility to all, to enrich lives and show love and respect within our school. We believe in educating the whole child. We cherish everyone and encourage everyone to treat each other as a unique individual. We want the children of St Margaret's to be caring and respectful towards one another; learn to be confident and courageous in the face of challenges; be the best they can be:

"Living Life in all its fullness'

(John 10:10)

We preserve and celebrate our school's religious character which is underpinned by Christian belief and practice and we encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith. We seek to provide an education to the highest based on our Christian values of Love, Respect, Trust, Forgiveness and Courage.

Love - God's Love is expressed implicitly through the value we place on the uniqueness of every individual. St Margaret's school community is loved and valued.

'Let all that be done, be done in love'

1 Corinthians

Respect -Our school community knows that to respect is to understand that everyone is different and that everyone should be treated with love and kindness. We strive to ensure that children of St Margarets respect themselves and their unique contributions to their homes, school and communities.

'Encourage one another and build each other up'

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Courage - Jesus inspires us to be courageous and to stand for what is right in all circumstances. No one gives up. We all strive to reach our full potential

'Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord God is with you wherever you go.'

Joshua 1.9

Forgiveness - Relationships between children, adults in school, parents and the wider community are underpinned by our Christian values. Just as Jesus instructs us to forgive others over and over again we also do.

'Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must always forgive others'

Colossians 3.13

TrustTrust is essential to building positive relationships. Everyday we work together, willing to trust in others.

'Two people are better than one... If one person falls, the other can reach out to help'

Ecclesiastes 4.9-10
