PE and Sport Premium

The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of primary-aged pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles

School has won the physical activity and health enhancing initiative award at the Black Country PE and Sports premium awards. This, along with the School Games Gold Award, recognises the impact of the Sports Premium money on our pupil's engagement in physical activity or health improvement activities.

School has:

  • set up and run lunchtime clubs to engage a wide range of children in physical activities
  • developed intra-school competition with our Sports Council by running a wide range of House tournaments (which were organised and run by the children themselves)
  • committed ourselves to taking part in as many inter-school competitions and festivals as possible, taking a number of teams to each event. This included taking children from our Speech and Language Base.
  • continued to collaborate with Halas Homes, a centre for those with severe learning difficulties, and get involved in events that promoted physical activity (this collaborative relationship has been going for 4 years now).

The nomination not only included details on the above, by also included feedback from staff, parents and children, all of who shared the impact the above initiatives had had on
